It was nearly three years ago that our family discovered Tender Care Ross. At that time we were completing the process of becoming foster parents and were searching for the perfect child care solution. Because I had knowledge of Early Childhood education and experience working in the field for many years, we had a long list of questions. We had spoken with and toured other centers but none had met our expectations.
The day of our tour we were greeted by Katie. She warmly welcomed us and showed us around the center, taking the time to show us every classroom and explained the daily routine. After the tour Katie invited us into her office and began answering all of our questions. She took the time we needed to fully understand the program. She was very comfortable dealing with the challenges our family potentially brought to the center and staff through fostering. We left feeling like Tender Care was THE PLACE for our family.
More than a year and a half passed before we had more interaction with Katie and Tender Care because the first child placed with us had medical needs that required her to be enrolled in a program that had nurses on staff. When we did reach back out to Katie, it was in desperation. We had taken in two children and they were attending another wellknown center downtown. Within the first few days of dealing with the other center, we witnessed many concerning things which included an infant falling out of a swing. We called Katie and shared with her what was happening. She shared our concern and told us she'd call back shortly. Katie called us back with great news...she had space in both classrooms for the two children in our care. We remember being so relieved and like we had just won the lottery.
Since March 2013, Tender Care Ross has been a part of our family. We have experienced the infant, early toddler and middle toddler programs. Each of the children in our care has had their unique situations and challenges. Katie and the staff have always welcomed each of our children with open arms and embracing hearts. Because all the children in our family have been in the foster care program, they have had crazy schedules which at times have impacted mealtime, naptime, or translated into multiple drop offs and pick ups within a day. Katie and the staff have handled these interruptions with grace and kindness. Katie has always assured us that regardless of how challenging our situation is she and the staff are devoted to 'making it work' for the benefit of our children.
Tender Care has been a place of comfort for our children. They have been provided with unconditional love and support from all the teachers they've encountered. Being part of the Tender Care family has provided our family with a great deal of comfort in some of the most difficult times of our lives. Katie is always available to talk through situations or concerns and ends every conversation with reassurance. Katie has been our sounding board and our counsel through some really tough situations.
In over a year and a half of daily encounters with the teachers at Tender Care, we have experienced nothing but positivity and support. Katie and the teachers hold a very special place in our hearts. We feel so fortunate to have them and are so thankful they embrace us."

"Our daughter has been attending Tender Care since she was about 11 weeks old. She is now almost 3 and a half. I can honestly say that she is genuinely excited to go to school every day. She enjoys all of the activities offered, but a few of her favorites include circle time, getting to play dress up/pretend playing outside on the playground, water days in the summer, and the various arts & craft activities that align with each week's lesson plan/theme. She also enjoys all of the special guests, including the librarian visits, DJs, visits from Tender Teddy, dance parties, etc. She also loves to play and interact with her friends and peers. When we pick her up and grab her things from her classroom, she always shows us and tells us about the story they read that day in circle time or the arts and crafts activity that they completed.
As a parent, the administrators and teachers at Tender Care are like family. We can rest assured while at work, that our daughter is well stimulated and happy doing handson activities and truly learning. We love to hear about what she learned each day and how it relates to the theme/lesson plan for that week. It's a relief to know our daughter is in such good hands while we are at work, in a stimulating environment where she is learning and preparing for the years ahead."
